Denver rapper Hypnautic opens the rollout for his upcoming solo album, Good To Be Vertical, with “Pressure,” out now. Produced by and featuring AJ iAM, the track brings the weight of bills, family, and staying afloat into the music.

“Pressure” pairs gritty hip-hop with melodic vocals, giving Hypnautic room to get into what it takes to keep going when people are counting on you. Financial strain and family responsibility sit at the center of the song. It's a direct introduction to the experiences behind Good To Be Vertical.

Known as one half of Colorado's Top Flite Empire, Hypnautic brings that history into a solo record about where he is now. The album moves through family, conflict, regret, and gratitude, with room for the harder records alongside the more reflective ones.

“I'm still here. Still learning. Still vertical,” Hypnautic writes in his artist statement.

That perspective runs through the project. He's writing from years of experience, with things still to figure out and people to show up for. “Pressure” is the first look at that world ahead of the full album.

Good To Be Vertical arrives November 11 through Uncommon Music Collective. The thirteen-track album is produced entirely by Alex Johnson, known as AJ iAM.
